Monarch Airlines refund

I paid for a return flight on Monarch via Paypal on 3rd Jan 2017.  As it is over 180 days am I unable to make a claim?  I cannot get through to anyone in Customer Services to ask as the automated system does not cover this query.

Thanks for the replies.

I don't know what to do next. I registered a claim the day after the collapse and have spoken to them twice on the phone.

Do I keep chasing it up or sit back and wait?

Hi Niladawn, I have done the same thing today I have asked Barclaycard to send me a claims form to do a chargeback to Paypal.

It would be a lot easier if they treated everyone the same and told everyone the same thing!

I understand it is not PayPal's fault and the amount of claims they are having to deal with must be immense but surely everyone is equal and should be treat the same?

Have just phoned Paypal claims dept and been told the 180 day limit still applies but

my claim has been recorded and I will be emailed if there is any change in policy.

Hi @GrahamGriffith

I have received the same response in my 3 contacts (both phone and email) with PayPal, I am increasingly sceptical that anyone saying they have had a refund after 180 days is genuine.

I'd persue your Bank with a chargeback claim, I think you will have more chance of a refund that way.

Hi I'm definitely genuine. I really didn't expect a refund as I was over 180 days and my PayPal account wasn't linked to my bank debit or credit cards (it takes money via direct debit from my bank if needed). I was expecting to have to claim on my insurance and lose £95 in excess. To be honest payoal refunded me quicker than my M&S credit card - still waiting for them.
