Wallet holding my cash!

I found that  "Wallet" is holding   - depending on exchnage rates..about us$25.  Also I just had a us$1075 refund..and that too seems to be stashed in teh  wallet.   No matter what I spend on  eBay or other online stores... the cash comes out of my bank...and the  money in wallet...is untouched.

Can  somebody please help???

I find PP are a waste of time and effort trying to get any sensible contact or replies.

Preset question or options which  do not  apply to this type of questrion are OK... byt what about a "General" option where questions like this can  get answers ??

Serioulsy thinking of just  using my Credit cards to make payments... At least I can contact my  bank online 24/7 265 days!

Beause your FUNDS ARE IN POUNDS STERLING and presumably your seller wants paying in DOLLARS.

So its taken from your bank account or card as that can be converted to USD but funds in your PAYPAL BALANCE has to be CONVERTED BY YOU.

If you have dollars in your paypal balance then you would have to buy items in dollars.

To withdraw it to your UK bank account you would need to convert them to sterling first and to spend them buying items in sterling you would need to convert again as well...............fees apply.

Hi,

Thanks for  the reply, however, I know all you mentiooned - what you do not explain is HOW the money in wallet got there and where from?   I have not willingly transferred anything from my bank. I use PP onbly to buy off eBay and a few other  - mainly Chinese - onlline stores. Each purchase needs cash being taken from Bank - unless I have had refunds. Then  next purchase the refund "cash in  the account" is used in whole or part.  I make a purchase now... money from bank - nothing taking from teh $25 in Wallet...can you explain that?

Well presumably the money in your wallet is from a refund, but you would know that better than me surely???

If you funded your paypal payment that was refunded via funds in your paypal balance OR from your bank account and not a card then any refund would go back to your paypal balance

And  you can't use WITHDRAW those funds in your balance if they are in dollars unless you convert them to sterling but you can use them but only if you buy from someone that accepts dollars.........but i have already told you that.

Hi,  Thanks again.

Sorry if this seems argumentative...but in my original post I did say that even with this money in "Wallet" - when  I  make a purchase that  money in wallet is NOT used...and more is taken from my bank to meet the cost of the  latest purchase.

Its now added to by A$8,95

How I am to get access to the wallet if PP  continue to  keep  leaving it untouched and take more money from  my bank?  I can see no way to allocate Wallet as first choice  to  access cash to  pay sellers.

To make it worse I was never asked if I wanted a "wallet" in teh first place and second having been afflicted by it - PP give no information as to its use and manipulation as a payment source - at least  that none of my seqrches have found. I  this post originator - is teh second post asking teh same question, the frst was weeks ago - mid November I think...and got no replies...ditto request using PP set piecve email options.

Your  help is appreciated.

Think i have said 3 times now that for the funds to be used in your paypal balance they have to be in the CORRECT CURRENCY of the seller you are buying from otherwise they will take from your bank account.

I appreciaite your reply - but not the sarcastic bit.

I think I have said more than three times... that I use ebay and online stores - ALL or mostly all Chinese and trade only using US$.

ebay and other online stores generally want US$  and although a buyer can opt to see prices in their preferred currancy -  the end payment tends to be in us$.

However I will ask the question with  one of teh onine stores.

Just made another online purchase with PP.... au$10 from a refund  and in wallet - was used in full and  the balance   from my bank - BUT the US$25... was left untouched.  It cannot be an exchange thing because everything I spend  via PP  starts as GBP£ and ends up in  the Chinese sellers bank - as US$

Can anybody explain this to me please. Why is this us$25 sitting unsed and  I am unable to to move it anywhere or  find any information  from PayPal - who make profit from me !

CAPS DONT REALLY MAKE A POINT - and if you did not see my previous repies.... I paid  the sellers in AUD because I am  in Aussie on a 6 month  visit!

IF  the wallet is now a repository for  refunds - which originated from a payment in AUD or any other currency -  whcih were used up  previouls to the - in my case - unwanted  and never conmsulted or had explanations - Wallet  it seems logical for PP  to use the account "cash in hand" to  make payments and do as before making exchange rate charges?

The PP reciept shows paid in AU$ and no payments were converted from  GBP to USD  or exchange rates applied.

HENSE MY CONFUSION -what  happens contradicts what you write!

Logically what you say is through no fault of my own and because some seller  - who only wants USD - refunds in a different currency to that  they took in payment - refund in a currency that if I never have to  buy in USD - will stay acrueing interest in PPs banks forever!   Only pleased  I did not get a refund in Russion  roubles.

I appreciate you taking time to respond  to what must seem to be an idiot asking stupid question - but PP dont make  life easy and its getting to the point where I am going back to using credit cards - its seems less traumatic than dealing with  PP who do not have any "customer service" access and rely on voluteers.

To end, can you  give me a link to where PP have  in writing what you explain to me - surely it must be somewhere  on teh website although I can never find it.

Regards and thanks again.
