So I was shopping around on AliExpress and I saw this Dell XPS M1730 8800GTX GPU for sale. I purchased the item and 3 weeks later it arrives...dead. The GPU was shorted out I couldn't even power on the system. So I opened a dispute with AliExpress and tried to negotiate with the seller that the GPU was defective but he only ignored the issue completely. AliExpress told me everything would be fine but later they blocked me from Human Customer Support and I could then only speak to the useless Bot 'Eva'. That's when I decided to file the chargeback on PayPal as I was suspicious AliExpress would side with the seller and steal my $ as I heard too many horror stories about AliExpress. Subsequently, My order got frozen as expected but with no way to Contact PayPal since the Call link is broken and the useless Assistant on PayPal does no good either. Advice would be much appreciated but this is my final time I ever do business with AliExpress/AliBaba group in my existence. Item is a HULICS 8800M GTX SLi

ok then if you have opened a dispute for item received but not as described then make sure you put in as much information as possible and escalate the dispute to a claim before the dispute auto closes 20 days post opening it.

Then you have to wait for Paypals decision, they normally do not get involved in ''quality'' of an item as item has to be significantly other than as described ie wrong item for example.

If they find in your favour then make sure you have activated the return shipping link as per below in case they request you return the item first.

A chargeback is not a paypal dispute as its done directly with the card issuer you funded your paypal payment with.

Paypal disputes are for non receipt of item OR item received but not as described.

If you did a 'chargeback' via your card issuer then its the card issuer that makes any decision and all paypal can do is pass on any information on your behalf.

The Chargeback dispute was opened through PayPal, not my Bank.

Then it wasn't a chargeback so which dispute did you open?

It was a dispute about a defective item on PayPal. Not as described.
