Scammed through Friends & Family

recently scammed due to my own mistakes of not doing much research, he told me to send through friends and family. is there anything at all i could do to get my money back?

Today they scammed me too, does anyone know what I can do? I sent the money through Family and Friends and now I have no option to claim because of the protection, and the seller refuses to give a refund. Any suggestions? In fact I have proof of everything.

Unfortunately nothing! I had the same last year, where I purchased items from a good feedback, and was stupid to tick friends and family. They took £240 from me. Tried everything, but because of the friends and family could do nothing.

This is how it works. We(admin's) have a private Facebook group chat with tickets resellers(scalpers). They're verified and legit and haven't had any issue purchasing tickets from them. The purpose of the post I made is to help group members get legit tickets so they won't fall for scams in the group as there are so many scammers on there. The scalpers are the ones we purchase tickets from directly for whoever's wants ticket. We're trying everything we can to curb as much scams activities in the group as much as we can and as well as removing scam profiles from the group. For a safe purchase, I'd suggest I middleman the purchase of the tickets. They will need your Ticketek ID and the names that will be on the tickets. The tickets will be transferred directly into your Ticketek ID. Payment will be via PayPal. Immediately they confirmed the payment, the tickets will be sent straightaway.

"Olivia Rodrigo Sydney Tickets. Premium reserved seatings are going for $260 each. A Reserve tickets are going for $190 each. B Reserve tickets are going for $170 each. C Reserve tickets are going for $155 each. GA standing tickets are going for $220 each."

I was sent email address  and Arlene Bryant and instructed to send payment via Send through friends and family

Has anyone successfully get money back from Paypal ?

A friends / family (or gift payment) is intended as a transfer of funds from family or friends to one another. For this reason, there is no processing fee when payment is made with bank or PayPal balance.
However as it is a gift payment, there is also no buyer protection as no goods or services should have been exchanged.

If he was not a close mate or family member you should never use that option as it enables the seller to evade paying his Paypal fees and negates your buyer protection at the same time.

You would also not be able to open a dispute (apart from one citing an unauthorised transaction), which would be automatically closed as you did authorise the initial payment.

Be careful as using that option for purchasing goods is against Paypal rules and can lead to account limitation.

If you funded your Paypal payment via a credit card then contact your card issuer and see if they will help you but unfortunately they may decline as well as it was a gift payment.

Thank you for your advice and I wish I knew about the Family and friend. I contacted bank /lodged ACCC-scam report for scam and identity theft and put all of evidences to them including all of conversations between myself and the scammer/s. 

The scammer's paypal transaction is currently on Hold until my bank contact them.
