Hi , I want to know if its possible to keep your address and other personal info private when sending confirmation emails to customer once they have made a purchase/payment, and have an email address as a method of contact only.
If so how do I change this?

Hi, there should be no need for you to have to give all your details away in your confirmation e-mails. In the payment confirmation e-mail from PayPal, we merely confirm to the buyer that they have made a payment to you. If you send out your own e-mail confirmations to buyers, you must then edit them to show only the most relevant information. Good Luck.

Hi there Finissin,
The only way to keep your address hidden from buyers is to mark your payments as a service. As it is a service being offered there would be no reason for us to pass on your address. The only problem with this is there is no Seller Protection coverage for services as you can see from the portion of our User Agreement below.
"13.3 What type of payments are eligible for re-imbursement under PayPal Buyer Protection?
-
PayPal Buyer Protection only applies to PayPal payments for certain tangible, physical goods that can be posted. Payments for the following are not eligible for re-imbursement under PayPal Buyer Protection:
-
intangible items
-
services....."
-
I hope this helps

Thanks, as I sell digital items etc I don't get seller protection anyway 🙂
So how would I go about marking my payments as services? Surely it's the buyer who decides?

Hey Finissin, I would suggest atht you mark it in the title of the invoice or input it into the Terms and Conditions that it is a service to be provided. Hope that helps.
