Hello, I just joined PayPal yesterday. I made a personal account. I will be doing contractual work for an employer overseas. She needs to send me money from Australia and I am based in Canada. Hence, she will send me money in Australian dollars and I need to receive them in Canadian dollars. I was wondering aside from the conversion charges that she will have to pay, there will be no fees, right?

Depends on the reason she is sending the funds, if it comes under goods/services supplied then yes you will pay a fee.
If its a gift payment using the friends/family option then the fees would be on the senders side IF they funded that paypal payment via a card. Free from bank account or balance.
However do not use the friends/family option for the wrong reason to evade paying fees as paypal do random checks and suspend accounts of folks that do that, also if you have a business account you would not be able to receive that type of payment anyway.
Secondly if she is paying conversion then she needs to select CAD when sending the funds and then before she checks out to send the money it will tell her how much in AUD will be deducted from her funding source ie bank or card.
Advice is voluntary.
Kudos / Solution appreciated.
