Why is friends and family payment option not showing up for me?

I am based in UAE and trying to transfer to a friend in US if that helps! The option to choose doesn't even come up for me. I just insert the amount and when I click next it just takes me to the summary page where it says 'good and service payment'

Unfortunately, Friends and family option is not available for every country. AE is one of the countries where it is not available. You’ll have to use goods and service option.

 

If the payment is on hold, the recipient has to confirm order status: 

 

  1. Go to your Activity
  2. Find the transaction you would like to update, then click Get your money or click the transaction and click Add tracking info button. 
  3. If you received payment that does not require shipping (ie. personal payment, delivered in person), sold an intangible item or service, select Service or virtual product to confirm order status OR select Completed or Order processed from the Order Status menu.

     

Recipient will get their money 7 days after confirming the order status as Completed.

 

Then after 48 hrs from confirming order status, you, the sender confirm receipt, if the option is available here’s how:

 

  1. Click Activity at the top of the page.
  2. Find and click the original payment for the item.
  3. Click Confirm receipt.
  4. Click Yes to confirm that you received the order.

***Not all purchases require receipt confirmation.
