eCheck Clear Time

Hello and good morning,

I sent an eCheck to a friend of mine on mistake, instead of the normal way of sending it. Unfortunately, I wasn't able to cancel it so I just let it play it. PayPal said it would arrive around Feb 9 on the transaction history (I sent it on Feb 5). It eventually came out of my bank on Feb 11 and still shows as pending (6 days after PayPal took funds from my bank and it posted/cleared in my bank). I asked PayPal over last weekend when my friend would receive the funds and they told me "likely Feb 14" (Monday). When it was still pending all day Monday, I asked them on Tuesday (Feb 15) when it would clear and they said it takes awhile going through ACH, but give it another 24-48 hours. We are now two days removed from that last inquiry and it's still pending. My questions are:

-Is this normal to take 6+ days after PayPal has taken funds for them to be cleared?

-Will eChecks clear randomly throughout the day or should I just assume the earliest it will clear is tomorrow morning?

-If it doesn't clear this week, will they clear over the weekend or is this a weekday only event?

Thank you!

Did your payment clear and if so how long did it take? I am on day 5 since funds were taken from my bank and the payment is still showing pending. Bank called ACH and confirmed it cleared ACH, so this is not a bank or ACH issue it is a PayPal issue.
