If I receive a payment in Argentinian Pesos (ARS), can I convert them to US dollars (USD) in my wallet?

Hello @YosefK

Welcome! Thanks for visiting PayPal's Community Forum! I understand you're looking to receive a payment in ARS and convert it to USD. At this time, PayPal accounts registered in Argentina are unable to receive payments, but they can still make payments and purchases.

My apologies for any inconvenience this may present,

Thank you for your answer. I don't live in Argentina and my PayPal account is not from Argentina, but from another country. My question is, actually, if I receive s payment from Argentina, would it be in Argentinian pesos? Can they send Argentinian pesos at all? And if they can, how do I convert it to USD? (I haven't seen the ARS option in the currencies menu).

Hello @YosefK,

Welcome to PayPal Community Forum and thank you for posting!

I understand your concern about received funds in a different currency. Please be informed that whenever you receive a new payment in new currency and when you choose to approve each foreign currency conversion and if the currency is supported by PayPal, we’ll notify you each time you receive a foreign payment and you just have to accept the payment and it will be automatically available in your primary currency of the account. Kindly note that the amount is converted at the latest applicable conversion rate and is then credited to your PayPal account. International payments are charged a percentage of the transaction amount on top of the exchange rate. If you want to hold balances in foreign currencies in your PayPal account, payments made in these currencies are no longer converted to U.S. dollars, but instead are kept in the foreign currency.

 Regards,

Ayesha
