paypal passed my OLD address to buyer during transaction completion>?

I made a purchase and when the transaction passed thru Paypal, and my OLD address was included in the transaction? (which is now the shipping information).

New account at the merchant, verified new address is correct. Paypal adddress is also correct new address. I would have updated this Paypal account nearly a year ago!

I'm trying to get it corrected via the merchant, but am concerned as I don't want this to happen again

When you enter an address during checkout on a merchant's website, it can get retained as a hidden address on your PayPal account.

Hidden addresses may later show up in another merchant's checkout as an option.

In order to get an address removed that was added in this way, it would require contact to Customer Service.

Just mention that it's a hidden address and a representative can get it removed for you. To see your contact options, click Contact at the bottom of the PayPal website.

This appears as to what happened. I downloaded my PayPal info and the old address shows up as "Inactive", but I do not see it in my profile.
