Bank account removed because "a recent transaction with your bank ending in xxxx didn't go through"

Basically yesterday I tried to transfer 4 payments from my PayPal account to my bank account, and today at about 11 am I received an email which says that my bank account has been removed from my PayPal account. The email says I can confirm with my bank that all the information is correct, or I can add another bank account, I tried to add my old bank account and I got an error "We're sorry. We're not able to process your request right now. Please try again later." I tried to add another bank account, but that failed also, my friend has the same problem.

Hello @jnotsaying,

Thank you for visiting our community forum!

Sorry to know about the withdrawal issues in your account. I certainly understand how concerning this can be for you. Your withdrawals might be failed, if the bank account details registered with PayPal do not match the information which your bank has on file. Any small discrepancy in a name, address, or anything else can cause the withdrawal to be declined. If there's any failed transfer, our system may remove the bank account from your PayPal account due to risk.

To prevent failed withdrawals from happening in the future, try removing your bank account details and re-adding the information. You can use a recent bank statement to confirm that the information you are adding is correct. If you see the error while adding the bank, try to add a different bank account to initiate the transfers.

Unfortunately, there are some banks that aren't compatible for use with PayPal. This may include most online or prepaid bank accounts. You can find the possible reasons for the bank decline here : Why can't I add my bank

I hope this information helps!

I have the same issue and I'm not able to re-add the bank, which I've been using with PayPal for over 10 years.  Other payments went through and I have funds in my account, so I'm not sure what the issue is aside it from being a PayPal issue.

I have the same problem. Have been using the same bank account with PayPal for over 8 years. Now I was supposed to split the payment between the money left in the PayPal wallet and pay the rest from my bank account. I received an email from my bank saying the transaction couldnt be completed due to: "the UMR (mandate) does not exist". Now when I'm trying to re-add the bank account to Paypal, it's saying "We're not able to process your request right now. Please try again later." I'm not sure what I should do now.

Hello @danas2,

Welcome to PayPal Community Forum and thank you for posting!

I am sorry to know that you're having issues while adding a bank. As per the information that you've shared, it is possible, our security program considers a variety of factors at each transaction/activity to keep you safe. Any activity of adding card/bank can often be blocked or declined if we detect any unusual or suspicious activity or not safe for your account in the future. In this case, I would recommend try again at a later time by clearing cache and cookies or try using different browser or device to see if that works. If the issue still persists, please check the Resolution Center to see if there are any notifications about your account status. If you need any assistance, you reach out to PayPal Customer Support Team through the available contact options on our website.

Note: A bank can only be linked 3 times to PayPal accounts in life time.

Regards,

Ayesha
