7 months later and the issue you experienced in December 2022 has not been resolved. I actually spoke to an English as a first language PayPal representative on 7/13/23. He flat out told me PayPal has never went "all in" on cryptocurrency. Believe me they're not trying to resolve the issue of being able to transfer your cryptocurrency to another platform even though they published a big press release when the transfer tabs were added to their website. He suggested I sell my ETH and covert back to USD. I asked why would I want to pay additional fees and sell for less than my cost basis just to access my own assets? He told me I didn't have a history of transferring cryptocurrency on PayPal and the system is designed to deny transfers without a transfer history. That seems strange because they took my cryptocurrency and have been holding it for two years. I explained after over two weeks of attempting to transfer approximately $5,000 of BTC it finally went though after maybe a dozen attempts during one session on 7/13. The employee told me he was surprised the transfer went through. That tells me it somehow slipped through the cracks and was suppose to be kept by PayPal. I filed a complaint with the Department of Finance which I'm reasonably sure will go nowhere. Once I eventually get my ethereum off the PayPal platform I will immediately close this account.
