Hi. I've bought something on Ebay from a seller in France who has a 100% selling record over approximately 70 transactions. I paid thru PayPal. So, if the goods do not turn up I'm protected. After this purchase, the seller has sent me an email offering to sell me the same type of goods I just bought at a much lower price. Obviously paying him by sending money thru PayPal using the email he gave of a PayPal email, i.e, not thru Ebay. I replied saying should I just use the "Make Offer" option to pay for this second purchase. Seems logical to me to do that. But he says things are set with Ebay, not easy to change, so he is proposing using PayPal directly. Forgetting for a minute the morality of selling outside of Ebay, let's treat that as a separate issue, it is hard to tell whether everything is kosher or whether there is an attempt at a scam. Because the Ebay seller has a 100% record on his sales. In his direct emails to me there are two emails one with a hotmail.fr domain and another with paypal.fr domain. I've asked PayPal if the PaypPal email is a genuine one, but not got a reply yet. On one of his emails to me there is some PayPal stuff in French. There is a number and link associated with "Nr de transaction". I click on that but Paypal reports no such page. I do see the transaction when I log into my PayPal account. Of course I have the sellers name. So, is there something suspicious going on here? I wish PayPal would get back to me and report on the email I supplied them. Thanks. Rich
