Hi. When I'm in YouTube I often wish to donate a very small amount (£3.00)  thru a "SuperChat".  But in order to pay I have to find my mobile phone, switch it on, get the OTP, and put the code into the box on the page on my laptop. Having to go thru this procedure, everytime for a lousy £3 donation I find ridiculous and a pain in the you know what.  Can something be done so that I don't need to rely on a OTP to pay such measly amounts? Like, can I set a point under which PayPal need not send me a OTP?  Or, is there some other legit way? Thanks. ... View more

Well, PayPal said the bank account had been removed from my Wallet.  And that's why payment failed. But, why then did the system source the direct debit payment from that bank account, if it had been removed from my Wallet? Anyhow, I've cancelled the direct debit. But, PayPal will probably charge me the late payment fee.  Which I'm not happy about.  I don't think I removed the bank account from my Wallet.  Not much more I can do. EDIT. At first payment was made and then there was a "payment reversal" on the same day. Is that possible if the source of payment was removed (taken out of Wallet) prior to the system drawing on that source to pay the direct debit? ... View more

Hi. I've set up PayPal Credit and the system indicated "Direct Debit Scheduled".  The payment due on the 13th was rejected, even though there is sufficient funds in that account.  I am wondering if there was a technical problem, in the sense that was a direct debit actually set up. One thinks that if no direct debit was set up, the system would not report "Direct Debit Scheduled". So, I have complained to PayPal. I've asked PayPal to please tell me the precise reason the payment failed. So far, PayPal has failed to tell me that precise reason. I think I am owed it. Your thoughts. Richard ... View more

Hi. I cannot find anything wrong except that the transaction ID under  "Nr de transaction" fails to show up on a PayPal page and it's different from the transaction ID that I see in my PayPal account.  The ID associated with "Nr de transaction" does of course come from a PayPal notification sent to the seller informing him of an instant payment.  I would have thought that a transaction ID sent to the seller ought to match the ID I see on my (as buyer) PayPal page. But, maybe not. Anybody know? Rich ... View more

Anything suspicious here on behalf of a seller?

Hi. I've bought something on Ebay from a seller in France who has a 100% selling record over approximately 70 transactions. I paid thru PayPal. So, if the goods do not turn up I'm protected.  After this purchase, the seller has sent me an email offering to sell me the same type of goods I just bought at a much lower price. Obviously paying him by sending money thru PayPal using the email he gave of a PayPal email, i.e, not thru Ebay. I replied saying should I just use the "Make Offer" option to pay for this second purchase. Seems logical to me to do that. But he says things are set with Ebay, not easy to change, so he is proposing using PayPal directly. Forgetting for a minute the morality of selling outside of Ebay, let's treat that as a separate issue, it is hard to tell whether everything is kosher or whether there is an attempt at a scam. Because the Ebay seller has a 100% record on his sales.  In his direct emails to me there are two emails one with a hotmail.fr domain and another with paypal.fr domain.  I've asked PayPal if the PaypPal email is a genuine one, but not got a reply yet.  On one of his emails to me there is some PayPal stuff in French. There is a number and link associated with "Nr de transaction". I click on that but Paypal reports no such page. I do see the transaction when I log into my PayPal account. Of course I have the sellers name. So, is there something suspicious going on here? I wish PayPal would get back to me and report on the email I supplied them. Thanks. Rich ... View more

May I just point out, that I was only ever claiming for partial refund. But, the sytem led me in a direction, regarding my claim, that made it appear I was claiming for a full refund, that is for the transaction amount, rather than just one of the two orders covered by that transaction.  Only when that claim was cancelled was I able to move on to claiming for missing quauntity.  Unless I've missed something and I could have claimed for missing quantity right from the start.  It would be nice if that is possible. ... I'm having a simiar problem.  One transaction ID covers two orders, one of which was not delivered (and I can prove non delivery). Anyway, PayPal first ruled against me on the claim (quite wrongly) and without telling  me why the case should be closed (which was crass of PayPal).  Now, after the case had been closed. I was able to click on a button that presented me with an option to claim for missing quantity. So, it is under that head (missing quantity) that I got the case to be opened again.  So, PayPal has now found in my favour, and quite rightly so. But, without checking with me that I've actually received the partial refund, PayPal has once again closed the case. My seller says I have to close the case before they can effect a refund (looks like they do not realised it's closed by PayPal). Now, what kind of system is it, where you have to close a case in order for a refund to be made?  A very bad one I suggest. ... View more

Should a dipute resoltution service close a case on simply receiving word from a seller that they intend to refund?  An intelligent person answers no to that qustion. A **** answers yes. Since PayPal has once again closed my case without word from me that I have in fact received the refund I have no hesitation calling the person dealing with my case a moron. Because their action fits with that description.   (Post edited by Moderator) ... View more

I will say that I've been a bit of a fool for not taking note of something that was said in a message: That it's not appropriate to seek a claim when part delivery has occured.  Because there is no way the system can cope when the amount claimed is lower than the amount shown in the transaction ID.  So, that's my fault  for not picking up on that earlier.   I see that now, I have the option of making a claim for part delivery.   One order, mentioned in the transaction ID, that has not arrived, is going to have to be taken as non delivered. I think all will work out well in the end. But I do wish PayPal would have contacted me and explained things to me instead of just closing the claim.  Contacting me would have afforded a chance for things to have been discussed and saved my feelings of annoyance. ...
