I am at my wits end! I live in the UK customer service only has a US number? I dont have money to waste to call them. For some reason when I send money it keeps defaulting to Buy Goods & Services. I do not have the option to switch to Friends & Family transfers without the high fee. Nowhere to be found on the account to change this. It is completed locked on my app on Goods & Services. No way to change it. There is no email to customer service either. What do I do? I am shocked that in 2022 such a big company has no customer support for such a simple query.

Paypal customer services in Europe is based in Dublin, if you click help/contact on a UK paypal account you get the number for Ireland c/s.
When you click to send funds you input the email address of the recipient > then on the 2nd or 3rd page you get the option to select f/f or g/s.
However do not use the friends/family option for paying for goods/services as its against paypal rules and negates your buyer protection.
If your recipient is a business account holder then they would not be able to receive friends/family payments. Also some countries do not have the f/f option.
Advice is voluntary.

Maybe then its because you are registered as living in the Faroe Islands and using that countries paypal account which would explain a lot !!!

Users in the Faroe Islands DO NOT have the friends/family option and would certainly not be directed to UK customer services !!

Hello,
Customer service has given me a US number to call, but it is not working. I am trying to call from my UK phone number.
Faroe Islands is in Europe. What a disaster, I just want to close my account. I have clicked on close my account, but it is telling me to contact customer support for that.
They have given me the US number https://www.paypal.com/selfhelp/contact/call
to call for Faroe Islands support but no country or area code? The call wont go through. Called customer service again three times and the call keeps disconnecting.
